The Tender Bar

J.R. is a fatherless child growing up in the glow of a bar where the bartender, his Uncle Charlie, is the sharpest and also most vibrant of a variety of quirky and also demonstrative father figures. As the kid's established mom struggles to give her son with possibilities refuted to her-- and also leave the dilapidated home of her shocking if begrudgingly helpful daddy-- J.R. begins to gamely, if not always gracefully, pursue his enchanting as well as expert dreams, with one foot persistently positioned in Uncle Charlie's bar.
