Romance in Manhattan

Karel Novak is an unbelievably ignorant Czech immigrant who is taken under the wing of streetwise New York chorus girl Sylvia. With the help of lovable cop-on-the-beat Murphy, Sylvia hides Karel from the migration authorities as well as eventually loves him. Along with Karel's illegal-alien standing, the plot is complicated by a crooked lawyer and also a team of well-meaning welfare workers who venture to position Sylvia's youngster sibling Frank in a foster home.
