Ixcanul
María, a 17-year-old Kaqchikel Maya, copes with her parents on a coffee vineyard at the foot of an energetic volcano. She is readied to be wed to the ranch's supervisor. Yet María longs to discover the world on the other side of the mountain, a place she can not even picture. And so she seduces a coffee-harvester that wishes to escape to the United States. When this male leaves her behind, María finds her very own world and also culture once again.
