Orphaned as a child, Liu E takes a trip to the resources Kaifeng, and later stands out of Zhao Heng. Though she was a concubine, Liu E was perceptive to state affairs, as well as usually gone over national politics with Zhao Heng. This practice continued when he came to be emperor in 997.
Liu E is crowned empress after adopting the child of a courtesan (later on Emperor Renzong), and acts as regent of the Track Empire during the last 2 years of her partner's power. Liu E would certainly continue to rule up until her death twelve years later in 1033.
