Jim Hanson's quiet life is all of a sudden interrupted by two individuals crossing the US/Mexico boundary-- a woman and her young son-- determined to run away a Mexican cartel. After a shootout leaves the mother dead, Jim becomes the kid's reluctant protector. He welcomes his duty as Miguel's guard and will stop at nothing to get him to security, as they take place the run from the relentless assassins.
